About the
Project

The three-storey building rises longitudinally from the steep slope.

The entrance is located at street level in the basement.
Two offset building wings form a forecourt facing the street and a well-protected terrace facing the north garden. All secondary rooms are placed on the western side to create a protective wall against unwanted views from the higher neighboring buildings. The living spaces, by contrast, open generously to the east toward the more loosely arranged single-family housing.

The
Result

As one moves through the house, windows of varying sizes frame views into the garden, the forecourt, and the living areas. The building volume is simple and restrained. The architectural approach deliberately resists a “trendy” spirit of the times.

The architecture relies on a reduced palette of form, color, and materials. Functionality, spatial sequencing, light guidance, and materiality achieve both objectivity and a sense of generosity.
